CDC Quarantine and Isolation Recommendations

Open Letter to the San Juan Unified School District Board of Education

Dear President McKibbin and Board Members,

On behalf of the San Juan Parents Association, I would like to request an update on the implementation of the new quarantine and isolation recommendations released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this week.

Specifically, we would like to better understand if the district will implement the CDC recommendations immediately or if there is an established process that requires guidance from the Sacramento County Public Health Officer.

As you know, quarantine and isolation impose significant strain on students' learning and social/emotional health. The new CDC recommendations will go a long way towards diminishing that strain in a manner backed by our nation's foremost epidemiologists and scientists.
